Dit is 1 van de minder bekende nummers uit Nevermind en volgens mijn mening kan het minstens de test doorgaan met de bekendere nummers. Echt grote Nirvana fan ben ik niet maar nu en dan een Nirvana nummertje erdoor kan wel leuk zijn. Wel jammer dat ik alleen de unplugged versie vind want ik hou vooral in het tweede filmpje van de treurklank van de gitaar.

Skin and Bones
Dan post ik eindelijk nog eens iets een maand na datum... gaat het weer over die dekselse Dave Grohl... tja wat kan ik zeggen ik ben nu eenmaal "kleine" fan van deze jongen. ik heb namelijk ontdekt dat het volledige (!) optreden in Hollywood rond de Skin and Bone tour op youtube staat. Een werkelijk prachtig stukje entertainment op een manier dat Foo Fighters minder bekend zijn maar volgens mij zoveel meer brengen dan in hun luide roep optredens. Ik heb in de vorige post al bezig geweest over de "In your Honor" acoustic cd die stukken beter is dan de gewone eerste cd van de dubbelbox. Tijdens dit optreden brengen ze vooral nummers van die cd in combinatie met enkele oudere nummers. vandaag geef ik in de blog enkele van de betere nummers tijdens het optreden maar ik raad jullie dik aan om het volledig optreden te bekijken.

Naast het feit dat deze nummers me steeds een gevoel van rust geven zijn ze ook vrij "simpel" wat gitaarlijnen betreft dus beginnende gitaristen zoals ik kunnen al snel enkele lijnen meespelen. Beste voorbeeld is Friend of a Friend waar ik het straks nog zal over hebben. Zoals jullie zullen merken de filmpjes die ik post zijn niet alleen het nummer zelf. Soms staat er eens een nummer bij of wat babbeling bij. Bij het volgend stukje krijg je 2 nummers On The Mend en Walking after you. Vooral Walking after you is voor mij een nummerke met grote impact. Het is 1 van de eerste nummers die ik ooit heb gehoord van de Foo Fighters en hoe meer ik er naar luister hoe meer relevantie het heeft met alles waar ik voor sta. Nu bon voor we te diepzinnig worden.

En dan nu.... trumtrum... mijn favoriet Foo Fighter nummmer Everlong. Als je bezig bent met muziek zijn er altijd wel enkele nummers die je zelf had willen schrijven nog meer dan anderen. Deze is er voor mij 1 van. Al van de eerste keer dat ik het hoorde stond ik versteld van hoe je met relatief eenvoudige gitaarlijnen een prachtig pakken nummer kunt maken. Ik hoop alleen dat ik dit ooit zelf kan brengen. Wel met iemand anders die het zingt want dat wil ik jullie niet aandoen ;)
